I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the novice is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really happening.
